Please read carefully.

1. General Disclaimer

All training, coaching, resources, templates, strategies, and guidance provided by the Company are educational in nature.

TATTOO AND PIERCING POLICY

Tattoo & Piercing Studio Policies & Client Agreement

Last Updated: 12/12/25
By booking an appointment, placing a deposit, or receiving services from Dojo Ink, you agree to the following terms and policies. These policies exist to ensure safety, professionalism, and legal protection for both the studio and the client.

1. General Consent & Acknowledgment

By receiving a tattoo or piercing, you acknowledge and understand that:

  • Tattooing and piercing are invasive procedures.

  • There are inherent risks, including allergic reactions, scarring, infection, skin irregularities, rejection, migration, or complications.

  • You voluntarily accept these risks and release the studio and artist from liability.

  • You confirm you are not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of service.

You agree that all services are performed at your own risk.

2. Health & Medical Disclosure

You must disclose any relevant medical information, including but not limited to:

  • Bloodborne illnesses

  • Heart conditions

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding

  • Diabetes

  • Autoimmune disorders

  • Skin conditions or sensitivities

  • Medications such as blood thinners, antibiotics, or Accutane

Failure to disclose these conditions may result in denial of service.
The studio is not responsible for complications that arise from undisclosed health information.

3. Age Requirements

You must present a valid, government-issued ID.

Tattoos:

  • 18+ only (no exceptions unless state law specifically allows, with parent/guardian present and documented).

Piercings:

  • Minors may be allowed with parent/guardian present, valid ID for both, and age restrictions per piercing type.

  • The studio reserves the right to refuse any piercing on a minor.

Falsifying identification results in immediate denial of service and forfeiture of deposit.

4. Deposits & Cancellations

All deposits are non-refundable.
Deposits secure your appointment and protect the artist’s time.

Deposits may be forfeited if:

  • You no-show your appointment

  • You reschedule with less than 48 hours’ notice

  • You arrive more than 15 minutes late

  • You change the design or placement in a way that affects the appointment

  • You arrive intoxicated, impaired, or without required identification

  • You fail to follow prep instructions (e.g., sunburn, open wounds, etc.)

Reschedules require at least 48 hours’ notice to retain your deposit.

5. Right to Refuse Service

The studio and its artists reserve the right to refuse service for any reason, including but not limited to:

  • Intoxication or impairment

  • Disrespectful or aggressive behavior

  • Poor hygiene

  • Medical conditions that contraindicate the procedure

  • Unrealistic expectations

  • Inappropriate, hateful, or offensive tattoo content

  • Requests for unsafe piercing sizes or locations

This protects the safety and well-being of both staff and clients.

6. Artwork, Design, and Creative Rights

You understand and agree that:

  • The artist will collaborate with you on your design.

  • Minor changes may be made on the day of the appointment; major changes require a new consultation.

  • The artist retains full creative rights and may decline designs outside their style or comfort zone.

  • All artwork is intellectual property of the artist.

  • Drawings or mock-ups are not released until the appointment and cannot be taken to another artist.

7. Photography & Media Release

The studio may photograph your tattoo or piercing for:

  • Portfolio use

  • Social media

  • Marketing materials

Photos will never include your face without your consent.
If you wish to opt out entirely, please notify the artist before your service begins.

8. Aftercare Responsibility

Your artist will provide detailed aftercare instructions.
You understand and agree that:

  • Proper aftercare is your responsibility

  • Failure to follow instructions may lead to complications

  • Touch-ups due to improper aftercare may incur an additional fee

  • Infection, irritation, or allergic reactions can occur and are not the studio’s fault

If concerns arise, you must contact the studio immediately.

9. No Refund Policy

There are no refunds for tattoos, piercings, deposits, jewelry, or services.

Once the service is performed, payment is final.
You are paying for the artist's time, materials, and expertise — not a guaranteed outcome.

10. Jewelry Policy (Piercing Clients)

  • All jewelry sales are final for hygiene reasons.

  • Only high-quality, sterile jewelry approved by the studio may be used.

  • Outside jewelry is not permitted for initial piercings.

  • Jewelry downsizing may be required at an additional cost.

11. Liability Waiver

By booking or receiving services, you release the studio and artists from liability for:

  • Infection, irritation, or allergic reactions

  • Migration, rejection, or scarring

  • Loss of earnings or damages related to healing

  • Any issues resulting from your failure to follow aftercare instructions

You agree not to pursue legal action for known risks inherent to tattooing or piercing.

12. Agreement to Terms

By signing our client intake form, booking online, or receiving services in person, you acknowledge that you:

  • Have read and understood these policies

  • Are voluntarily consenting to the procedure

  • Agree to follow aftercare instructions

  • Accept all associated risks

  • Agree to the studio’s no-refund and no-liability policies

These policies help protect you, the artist, and the studio.
